My name is Rebecca and I am dyslexic. My mom and I decided to try home school and this is one of my projects - a journal all about me. I am going to try to write at least once a week. I won't always talk about my dyslexia, but sometimes I will because it is a big part of me - a part that will be with me forever.

Taking Care of an Elephant for a Week

I was bored so I went to the circus.  Right when I got there, someone stopped me right away.  We need you!  Why?  Just come on.  I guess and elephant was feeling bad.  We need you to take care of him.  Okay, but why me?  Because we are guessing you are very friendly with the animals.  Yeah, but then twice the people to feed and more cleaning.  Well...  Well... Hmmmmmm...   What color is he?  Blue with black stripes on his legs.  What's his name?  Henry.  So I call him Henry?  Yeah.  So then we went home.

A life with an elephant.  I woke up.  I was exhausted, but then I saw that Henry was jumping on my couch while eating my dinner and wearing my clothes.  No, don't do that!  Don't eat my dinner while jumping on my couch, while wearing my clothes!  No, no, no!  Don't do this.  Don't do that.  Ai-yai-yai!  Finally, he is leaving.  He is all better.  But watching him go was so sad.  Well, bye bye little Henry.  I'll miss you.  SEE YOU AT THE CIRCUS SOON!

Can Anybody Help Us?

Me and my mom went to the grocery store.  When we got there, the store manager calls out that there is a big storm outside and you can't go home.  I started to freak out.  Where are we going to sleep?  What food do we eat?  The store manager rushed over here and said "You can make your own bed here."  "How?" I asked.  "Be creative.  And the food - don't worry.  We will give you food for free."  "Why?"  "Because this happens a lot and we have too much money.  Anyways, do you feel better?"  "I think so."  So I started to make my and moms bed of marshmallows.  Right when I was done, the store manager called out that it was lunch time and there was a very long line.  So, me and my mom waited because we are very generous.  Then finally we went in line and ate. It was good food.  I got hot wings - my favorite thing.  My mom got a sandwich.  Then I finished up our bed.  Then it came fast!  It was dinner!!  This time they let us go first.  We said "Thank you".  Some people said "no problem".  Some people said "You are very welcome".  They were serving tortellini and pesto.  Then dinner was over. Then we got into bed.  I was up all night because I was eating marshmallows.  Then I fell asleep. In the morning, me and my mom woke up at the same time.  My mom said "Why does it feel like I am sleeping on a rock?"  "Because I ate all the marshmallows"  "Oh, Becca"  For breakfast, we had bagels.  The store manager called out "The storm is over.  You can go home."  But we forgot to go shopping for food.  We actually paid for our food and the marshmallows and said thank you for having us.  "You are very welcome" the store manager said.  Me and my mom said that was the best day ever!

Rapunzel Auditions

I auditioned for Rapunzel on Tuesday.  My friend is Kayla and she auditioned for it too.  My director is Frank.  Frank told us to read for a part.  Ben got Rapunzel's dad, Kayle got Rapunzel's mom, and I got Rapunzel!  I got all excited.  I tried to be the best Rapunzel yet.  After, Frank wanted us to act like the witches servants.  I did the worst servant because I wanted to be Rapunzel.  Then Frank told us we did a great job today and that we would know our parts on Thursday.  Finally it was Thursday. I got the part of Rosemary and I was really disappointed at first.  But then I was happy because I got a part and everything turned out fine.

What Is It?

Can you guess?  It tastes like fruit.  It looks like a color in a tangerine but when you taste it, it does not taste like the color - it just looks like it.  It is round and has a hole in it just like a doughnut.  It is the size of a quarter and the hole is as wide as a pencil eraser.  It is bumpy because it has letters on it.  Do you know what it is yet?  It tastes like a fruit, but that part I already told you.  It is sticky and if you bite it, it makes a crunch sound.  If you suck it, it makes your mouth water.  Oh, and did I mention that it is a candy?   Well, that is the end.  I am not going to tell you what it is, but you might figure it out.  Let me know.  ~BYE!!

Turn Cold into Hot

It is freezing out side today it is all because the nasty fog.  And the bad part is you cant even see threw it.  But when we where on our way back from my old school Timber Point Elementary, I asked my mom if we could have some hot chocolate.  My mom said great idea.  So right when we got home mom was in the kitchen making me a nice cup of hot chocolate.  And we put an ice cube in it so it wouldn't be too hot.  And that is how we turned a cold day to a hot day.  ~BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Favorite Christmas Present

My favorite Christmas present is just knowing that Santa Claus came because this was my favorite year since I was born.  So I wanted it to be the best Christmas ever.  On Christmas eve morning I got markers and started writing my list.  Around 10:00 I had the idea of making a heart and a Christmas tree.  Guess what?  The tree stood up!!!  Inside the heart was red and the out side was white.  That took about a half in hour and then it was lunch.  After lunch I ran upstairs to get my stuff and put it next to my stocking.  Believe it or not, bedtime came before we knew it.  When I woke up in the morning, my stocking was stuffed and that was my favorite Christmas present.  ~Bye!

Daddy is Great!

I did not choose this topic.  As you can see, my Dad did.  So let me start my story off with Daddy is GREAT!  Well, because he is my dad and I love him very much.  But sometimes my dad will be not so nice because he makes some kids cry when he plays wrestle with them.  Oh, dad!  But after all, I still love him.  He is my dad and this story is true, believe it or not.  Well, I still have more on the timer, so don't stop reading yet...  I love him with all my heart, just like the rest of my family, but he is my topic.  Love you dad!!!  ~BYE!
