My name is Rebecca and I am dyslexic. My mom and I decided to try home school and this is one of my projects - a journal all about me. I am going to try to write at least once a week. I won't always talk about my dyslexia, but sometimes I will because it is a big part of me - a part that will be with me forever.

Can Anybody Help Us?

Me and my mom went to the grocery store.  When we got there, the store manager calls out that there is a big storm outside and you can't go home.  I started to freak out.  Where are we going to sleep?  What food do we eat?  The store manager rushed over here and said "You can make your own bed here."  "How?" I asked.  "Be creative.  And the food - don't worry.  We will give you food for free."  "Why?"  "Because this happens a lot and we have too much money.  Anyways, do you feel better?"  "I think so."  So I started to make my and moms bed of marshmallows.  Right when I was done, the store manager called out that it was lunch time and there was a very long line.  So, me and my mom waited because we are very generous.  Then finally we went in line and ate. It was good food.  I got hot wings - my favorite thing.  My mom got a sandwich.  Then I finished up our bed.  Then it came fast!  It was dinner!!  This time they let us go first.  We said "Thank you".  Some people said "no problem".  Some people said "You are very welcome".  They were serving tortellini and pesto.  Then dinner was over. Then we got into bed.  I was up all night because I was eating marshmallows.  Then I fell asleep. In the morning, me and my mom woke up at the same time.  My mom said "Why does it feel like I am sleeping on a rock?"  "Because I ate all the marshmallows"  "Oh, Becca"  For breakfast, we had bagels.  The store manager called out "The storm is over.  You can go home."  But we forgot to go shopping for food.  We actually paid for our food and the marshmallows and said thank you for having us.  "You are very welcome" the store manager said.  Me and my mom said that was the best day ever!
